Fashion Market Trending- Interesting About How & Who

When we talk about setting trends in this world, we are talking it really tough. Yes, setting trends in the markets or across the societies is not an easy task.

What a remarkable statement given by Saint Laurent, in a world not less than Paradise we are living. As enjoying each and every aspect of this beautiful circle. It’s about people living in this world. It’s their world and they will lead it as they want it to be. That’s the reason that people are divided according to similar taste, religion, culture and language. These clusters are called as societies. Small societies or big societies don’t matter. It’s about setting trends and leading with your trends that you’ve set.

When we talk about setting trends in this world, we are talking it really tough. Yes, setting trends in the markets or across the societies is not an easy task. At the other side we can say nothing is easy when you don’t want to do it. Yet, everything is easy when you want to do it. History remains to be a constant victim of reminding us that there were mindsets who set such remarkable fashions and trends in different scenarios of life that they still are something that we cannot resist to use.

But, when we talk about clothing fashion trends, we must remember that people couldn’t stick to just one fashion.

Clothing accessories are fast moving consumer goods which changes in a very short span. For example, if people were wearing flat shoes yesterday, today they have high heels & tomorrow they will have a different accessory designed. This has to be understood that people in this world are extremely brilliant, and it’s about both. Those who set trends, who designs everything is a master of fashion and those who are consumers are of it, are the ones who decides that which product will lead the market and which will not.

Having said that all let us focus on how we are considering the fashion trends in our society and how we call it a success or a failure. Let me remind you here that when we talk about fashion trending we consider each and every product from a hairpin to the accessory which covers your foot toe. In between, there are cosmetics, clothing, shoes and what not. There are different markets that are operating and designing these accessories for different people depending upon their purchasing power. When we are saying and depending over the purchasing power of people we divide this market into three classes. These can be:

Elite Class: (The Big Guns) 

This class only focus on those products which are specifically and specially designed for them. They can purchase highly expensive fashion goods and they are the ones who firstly purchase it whenever the product is launched. For example, when fashion shows are organized and new trends for market are exhibited in there, this class purchases those specific designs which are a limited edition. They want to be looked unique, so they only purchase from renowned companies like Gucci, Diesel, and Hugo Boss etc. Latest trends of online shopping give elite class opportunity to choose different brands of their own choices at the same time and from the same site like we see the different major designers on Lyst.


Upper-Middle Class: (The Working Class)

They are an important target market for every company. They literally set trends in the market and they are people with a balanced purchasing power. They are the ones to which somehow expensive yet qualitative products are exposed in the markets after the exhibition. They are the true consumers who can stretch the life of any product or who can reject the product within no time. Either Armani or Gucci or any other famous brand, consumers are everything for them to decide that if their clothes will lead into the market or not.

Middle Class: (Normal Purchasers)

For this class, industries doesn’t focus much because they can compromise in quality over pricing. They are the purchasers of fast moving consumer goods but they are not the deciders for the life of product. These consumers do not focus over the expensive products and companies yet they set their own trends and they decide within their society that what to be considered and what not.

Fashion Trending-In a Nut Shell:

Above all classes that we discussed separately, together have a huge impact over the fashion Industry and fashion market. Because, together we have two extremes. One who just purchases and do not care what they are purchasing and the other extreme are those who consider how threading is done in a cloth before purchasing it. There are some who compromise over quality but not over price and there are some who are vice versa.

All in all, it’s a true complicated industry to understand because these three classes are the ones who set trends of market. If a t-shirt is well designed, 10 people will wear it and they will be seen by 100’s of persons and then it would be purchased by them too. If a t-shirt is not well-designed then hardly 2 people will purchase it and 10 would see them and most probably 2 out of them will repurchase them. If we conclude it all in one sentence, we can say that “Word of mouth is something which leads the fashion market in some scenarios”.
