Marian volleyball topples St. Viator in three games

M VOLLEYBALL- Marian beats St. Viator, 29-27, 29-31, 25-12

   Will Craft powered home 31 kills on 46-for-49 hitting to ignite host Marian Catholic to a 29-27, 29-31, 25-12 ESCC victory over St. Viator on Tuesday. The Spartans also got strong efforts from Matt Novosel (40 assists), Ryan Hutchison (seven kills), Jason Kint (seven kills), Matt Anderson (10 digs, seven blocks) and Jake Piekarski (four digs, nine blocks).

BASEBALL- Joliet Catholic 10, Marian Catholic 0

   Joliet Catholic ace Kevin Duchene had his way with host Marian Catholic on Tuesday, as the visiting Hilltopper handed the Spartans a 10-0 ESCC setback in five innings.

   Erik Callaghan ripped a triple for the lone safety the Spartans (16-11, 4-7) could manage on the afternoon.
