Business Comings & Goings: Alco Spring Industries Back in Business After Fire

A look at new businesses coming into town and a fond farewell to those that have, for whatever reason, called it quits.

It was business as usual on Thursday at Alco Spring Industries, 2300 Euclid Ave. in Chicago Heights, the day after a machine fire forced the company’s closing on Wednesday.

The fire early Wednesday morning spread to the roof and flooded the building with smoke. The factory closed for the day. No one was injured in the blaze.

A receptionist said the company was running normal operations on Thursday and Friday.
