Dolton Club 'Shut Down' For Now; Village May Move to Revoke Liquor License
The mayor of Dolton mentions the possibility of revoking the liquor license at Club One, the site of a Mother's Day shooting that hurt five.

DOLTON, IL -- Dolton Mayor Riley H. Rogers called the shooting incident that occurred at Club One during the early morning hours of Mother's Day a "tragedy" and vows to ensure that Dolton is a "safe" community for its residents. Rogers spoke to members of the media and an audience of dozens through the Village of Dolton's Facebook Live feed Monday afternoon, noting that the club at the center of the incident that left five people wounded around 3:45 a.m. Sunday has been temporarily closed.
"We shut it down," Rogers said. "For seven days."

Robert Collins, the police chief of the village, told media on Sunday that the club has been a business "known" to law enforcement. Rogers said Monday that there have been "minor skirmishes" reported there much like other clubs in the area but "nothing of this magnitude or anything close."
He hopes the incident will spark a move to heighten security at the club and ensure it will be visited by police on a regular basis.
"We want zero tolerance moving forward."
