Marian Catholic Sets Placement Exam

All prospective freshman students are required to take the High School Placement Exam offered at Marian. The next exam for the 2011– 2012 school year is scheduled for Jan. 8 at 8 a.m.

All students who plan to attend to Marian must be present for this exam. Results from the 2011 test will be mailed on or about Feb. 15.

The required entrance exam for the 2011 - 2012 school year will be the STS / High School Placement test. For further information about the test, please contact the high school. A writing sample is required of all students, an essay to be written during the STS (HSPT) testing period. Paper will be provided. The math portion of the test does not allow a calculator.

For our January 2011 testers, the average entrance score for admitted students will continue to reflect scores that indicate college preparatory readiness. We will, however, rely on strong elementary school faculty and principal recommendations for those good students with a positive attitude who may have difficulty testing. Personal interviews with the student and family, in some cases, may be required.
