PSC Launches Building Trades, Painting & Drywall Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Prairie State College is hosting an orientation event for individuals interested in the new Building Trades, Painting, and Drywall Pre-Apprenticeship Program on Friday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Conference Center Auditorium at its Chicago Heights campus.

The pre-apprenticeship program is being offered free to accepted applicants, and was made possible by generous grants from the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity and JP Morgan Chase Foundation.

The six-week program is being offered in partnership with the South Suburban Community Development Corporation, the Chicago South Suburbs chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and Christ for Everyone Ministries, and is intended for participants 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
