South Suburban Computer Club Meeting – ALL ABOUT BROWSERS – What are they and what are the choices
The Chicago Computer Society South Suburban Computer Club Chapter meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 7:00 PM at Prairie State Community College, Room 1318/1320, 202 South Halsted Street, Chicago Heights, Illinois. Browsers are computer programs used for accessing sites or information on a network such as the World Wide Web. Web browsers come in many different styles, each with their own nuances. Browsers are simply your bridge to the internet. Tim Kekeis, current CCS president and long time club member, will demonstrate some of the most popular browsers available. This will include Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, and Apple Safari. The browser you ultimately decide to use is personal preference. However, by sharing his knowledge and experiences, Tim will help us with this decision. Browsers are free for the taking so you can help yourself to them. You will find his presentation both informative and useful.
All meetings start with an “Open Forum” where attendees can get answers to their computer-related questions prior to the featured topic presentation.
The Chicago Computer Society is a non-profit educational personal computer users’ group. Meetings are free and open to both members and non-members. For further information visit the Chicago Computer Society Web Site www.ccs.org
