South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) is a
therapeutic recreation program that is an extension of eight park districts and three recreations and parks departments. SSSRA is organized to provide individuals with special needs or disabilities the opportunity to be involved in year round recreation programs.
This class provides a beginner's education in American Sign
Language. Fundamentals, such as the alphabet, vocabulary, sentences and phrases will be introduced. The class will advance
as your skills increase, shifting the focus to receptive and
expressive language.
All individuals must complete the SSSRA
registration form, and return it to the South Suburban Special Recreation Association office. Children under the age of 10 are encouraged to sign up with a parent. SSSRA participants must be accompanied by an adult. This is not a staffed program. Fee is $60 for SSSRA resident, $240 for non-residents.
