First-Degree Murder Charge Made In Steger Stabbing
A 25-year-old Steger man has been charged in the death of Ryan Connell.

STEGER, IL — A 25-year-old man from Steger faces a first-degree murder charge in the stabbing death of Ryan Connell, whose body was found inside a home on Chicago Road in Steger on New Year's Day. Richard H. Proctor, 25 was arrested at the Will County Courthouse while being there for an unrelated case, Steger police said in a news release.
Police said a fight appeared to have led to the stabbing. The Will County Coroner's Office said Connell was stabbed multiple times leading to his death.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task force assisted police in the investigation.
