First Midwest Bank Robbed In Crete
Armed robber fled the First Midwest Bank on Steger Road with money after noon on Thursday.

CRETE, IL -- The First Midwest Bank in Crete was robbed Thursday afternoon. A bank robbery occurred at 1290 E. Steger Road in Crete around 12:14 p.m., John W. Althen - a media representative for the FBI - wrote in an alert to media on Thursday. A First Midwest Bank matches the address of the robbery.
Althen said the suspect is described as a black man 5'9" and between 18 and 30 years old. He was wearing a black ski mask, light grey hoody with a red shirt underneath, black pants, black shoes and black gloves.
The suspect was armed with a handgun, according to the alert. He left with bank proceeds in a bag and fled westbound on foot.
