Marian Catholic Retires Tyler Ulis' Basketball Jersey
The NBA player is the first basketball player to have his jersey retired at Marian Catholic.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Marian Catholic High School retired the jersey of NBA player Tyler Ulis, who graduated from the Chicago Heights school in 2014 following a stellar prep basketball career.
Ulis is the school's all-time scoring leader with 2,335 points, all-time assists leader with 578 dimes and made the All-ESCC team all four years.
A current member of the Phoenx Suns who played at the University of Kentucky before declaring for the NBA Draft, Ulis became the first basketball player at the school to have their jersey retired. Football uniforms worn by Mike Prior, John Holecek, Rodney Harrison and Dennis Kelly have also been lifted to the rafters at Casey Court. All of these athletes have reached the highest professional level of competition.

The current Spartans played well in honoring the former prep star, defeating Marian Central Catholic, 74-36, in the game on Friday night. The win improved the team's record to 15-10 overall and 6-2 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.
