A student at Rich Central High School was arrested and charged with battery after striking another student in the face while in the hallway, according to police.

Only One Way to Sell a Stolen Car

A 25-year-old Chicago Heights man was stopped in the parking lot of Marian Catholic High School after police discovered the car he was driving was reported stolen out of Chicago, according to reports. Police said the man proved he bought the car by showing a bill of sale from One Way Auto Sales, located in Hammond, Ind. The man even showed police his registration, which proved the vehicle had been registered with the Illinois Secretary of State without anyone realizing it was stolen.

Marble Mayhem

A Park Forest woman visited the Olympia Fields Police Department and told police that at around 8:30 p.m. on April 17 she was driving home on Western Avenue and something shattered her rear driver’s side window, leaving a 12-inch hole. The woman said she found a small marble in the vehicle but didn’t know where it came from.

License and Registration Problems

  • Hector Renteria-Robles, 33, of Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, having a cracked windshield and passing on the shoulder, police said.
  • Emmanuel Collins, 32, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license and driving without wearing a seatbelt, police said.
  • Onzo Wilkerson, 36, of Matteson, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, according to reports.
  • Anthony Redona, 28, of Steger, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, according to reports.
  • Voncia Amos, 35, of Calumet City, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and improper display of registration, police said.
  • Ellery Wolf, 27, of Lynwood, was arrested and charged with improper use of registration, police said.
  • Lemar Bank, 51, of Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license, police said.
  • Juan Gutierrez, 29, of Chicago Heights was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license and having a loud muffler, according to police.

FRIDAY, APRIL 22

Name Swap

Janina M. Kendrick, 24, of Country Club Hills, was arrested and charged with failure to signal, having no valid driver’s license and obstructing identification after she was stopped for changing lanes without signaling, according to reports. Police said Kendrick initially said her name was Alena Poe, but she didn’t match the height and weight on record for Poe. Kendrick then began crying and told the officer her real name, revealing that her license expired in 2008, police said.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20

Ahmed L. Perkins, 25, of Chicago was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and criminal trespass to a motor vehicle after he was stopped at Valero gas station when the car he was driving was revealed to be stolen, according to reports. Upon searching the vehicle, police say they found a bag containing a “green leafy substance,” which tested positive for cannabis.
