We are shocked and dismayed that the media, specifically Crain’s Chicago Business, celebrates the fact that a 22-year incumbent member of our United States House of Representatives barely squeaked by a petition challenge. Nearly 60% of Congressman Bobby Rush’s petition signatures were deemed fraudulent by the State Board of Elections. Patrick Brutus states, “The voters should be outraged that this is an option for consideration in this primary election.”
Come Election Day, the Brutus for Congress Campaign is confident well-informed voters of the 1st Congressional District will remain fully aware that Bobby Rush is:
1. Still under House Ethics investigation for campaign finance and other frauds;
2. One of the highest absentee voters in the House;
3. Unable to sponsor a House Bill to pass this session; and
4. Not offering nothing of substantive value to constituents for our future needs.
The day has come for voters to courageously vote him out of office on March 15, 2016. “We are taking our campaign straight to the voters. Voters who overwhelmingly want to hear from the only candidate in this race not responsible for either the past or present failures playing out in our communities today. Voters today are especially attentive about our future vision and goals for the entire District.”
