Peeps Diorama Contest at Crete Public Library

Enter your diorama based on a scene from your favorite book

The Crete Public Library recently announced plans for the second annual Peeps® Diorama Contest. Library patrons and staff had a great time with last year’s event when more than 50 entries were received. The diorama contest has been expanded for 2015 to include categories for teens and adults. The contest will begin on March 30 when contestants may begin submitting their entries. The last date to submit entries is April 10.

Guidelines for the Peeps® Diorama Contest are as follows: 1) Dioramas may be submitted in any size shoebox; 2) the diorama must be based on a book or may be a scene from a book; 3) all of the characters in the diorama must be Peeps® (at least one Peep® must be used); 4) other materials for costumes and props are allowed; 5) contents of the diorama must be secure enough to be moved throughout the library; 6) the name and age of the contestant should be included on the back of the box; the title of the diorama should be placed on the front of the box; 7) a completed official entry form must accompany the diorama. Entry forms are available at the library or may be downloaded from the library’s website.

A panel of judges will review all entries and award prizes in five age groups: Tots (up to age 5); Kids (age 6-8); Tweens (age 9-12); Teens (age 13-18); and Adults (age 19 & up). Judging will be based on originality, creative use of Peeps®, and overall quality. Winners in each category will receive an Amazon gift card. A “Peeples Choice” award will also be included. Library visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favorite diorama when they visit the library between April 13-25. The “Peeples Choice” winner will also receive an Amazon gift card. All winners will be announced on Monday, April 27.
