Bloom's baseball team had a rough go of it in its season opener, suffering a 9-1 loss to Chicago Christian in Palos Heights on March 14. Chicago Christian's Trent Overzet held the Blazing Trojans to one unearned run on two hits over five innings. He struck out nine and walked two.
