Sports Photo Gallery: Chicago Heights Park District T-Ball Excitement

The Chicago Heights Park District provides boys and girls an opportunity to jump-start their baseball careers through a T-ball league that is sure to put a smile on your face.

It was North Side against South Side on a smaller scale.

Bats were swinging hard during two recent T-ball games at Bob Lueder Field in Chicago Heights. There was a friendly rivalry between the Chicago Heights Cubs & the Chicago Heights White Sox. Cubs and Sox? Friendly?

On another field, the Red Sox played against the Blue Rays as action heated up in the third inning.

The teams play only three innings or for an hour, whichever comes first. Parents gather on the sidelines to cheer on their young sluggers. Smiles and hugs along with comments like "good game" rule the day.

The T-ball league is for 4-6 year-olds. They are learning the fundamentals of baseball while having a good time. And they'll learn quickly the Cubs and Sox rivalry is not always a friendly one.
