Teen Charged In Chicago Heights Wendy's Robbery

A 17-year-old boy suspected of pulling a gun on a Wendy's employee was was wanted for two other suburban robberies, according to police.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL -- A 17-year-old boy has been charged in the armed robbery that occurred at the Wendy's restaurant on 14th Street in Chicago Heights last week. Chicago Heights police said detectives found out the suspect in the May 3 crime was a juvenile who had already been taken into custody by the Robbins Police Department in connection with a stolen car and restaurant robberies in two other Chicago suburbs.

The boy, who was arrested on May 4, faces an aggravated robbery charge in connection with the incident at Wendy's, which was reported as an armed robbery in which a man showed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register after ordering a frosty drink. He fled the restaurant at 634 W. Lincoln Highway with nearly $300.
