What Should Go Here? Tom's Beer Barn on Chicago Road

Those who grew up in Chicago Heights may remember the barn-like building on Chicago Road near Joe Orr Road as the popular Red Barn Restaurant in the 1960s.

But since that restaurant went out of business at 613 S. Chicago Road, the building has come back to life in a variety of ways, including as a few liquor stores.

Most recently, the building was Tom's Beer Barn, but Chicago Heights officials say it has been empty for about a year and a half.

So here's the big question: What would you like to see go in this building?

Is it destined to be another liquor store? Or would something else fit in the spot? Let's brainstorm on what should go in this vacant building. Something is better than nothing, right?
