• Johnson tabbed as new Elverado athletic director (bnd.com) — Elverado High School has named Jeffrey Reagan Johnson as its new athletic director, overseeing programs that include a cooperative football team with Christopher High School. Johnson, a young educator and coach from Herrin, is preparing fall schedules, hiring officials, and getting to know coaches before school starts August 12, while the district continues searching for a boys basketball coach.
