• Hubbard (Hubcap) Lewiel Obit (thecoffeevillecourier.com) — Country Club Hills residents are mourning the passing of longtime community member Hubbard “Hubcap” Lewiel, who entered eternal rest at his home in the city on May 5, 2026. Services were held earlier this month in Melrose Park, and he is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose family ties stretch across Illinois, Mississippi, and Michigan. 
• Carleane Curtis Obituary – Galesburg, IL (1930–2026) (wgil.com) — A beloved former Cook County deputy sheriff, Carleane Curtis, is being remembered by family that includes her daughter living in Country Club Hills, tying her legacy to our community. She passed away in Galesburg on May 21, 2026, after a long, faith-filled life of public service, church involvement, and deep devotion to her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
