• Six dogs killed, found in garbage bags near Crete (suntimes.com) — Six young dogs were found dead in garbage bags along a roadside in unincorporated Crete, and Will County officials are urgently seeking tips to solve the case. Investigators say the pitbull-type dogs showed signs of dog fighting, and a $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to charges. Authorities stress this is both an animal cruelty and public safety concern for the Crete community.
