1 Critically Injured In 3-Vehicle Crash

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – A 45-year-old Hanover Park woman is in critical condition following a three-vehicle crash in McHenry County, authorities said. The collision occurred Wednesday afternoon on Route 120 west of East Wonder Lake Road in unincorporated McHenry Township. A preliminary investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office revealed a 2004 Audi A4 driven by a 30-year-old Wonder Lake man was heading east on Route 120 behind a 2013 Ford Edge when, for an unknown reason, the Audi ran into the Ford, according to a news release.

The Ford, driven by a 55-year-old Wonder Lake man, then crossed the center line and collided head on with a 2010 Dodge Caravan, which was driven by the 45-year-old Hanover Park woman, according to authorities.

The woman, who was the only person in the Dodge, was taken by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries. She was in critical condition Thursday, police said.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford was transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital in McHenry with minor injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the Audi was not transported.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be a factor in this accident. The investigation is ongoing
by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigations Unit.
