1 Dead In Fox Lake Hit-And-Run Crash
A 39-year-old North Chicago man standing outside his car along Wilmot Road after it became stuck in ditch was hit by a vehicle, police said.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Authorities are searching for a driver who hit and killed a 39-year-old North Chicago man early Monday in Fox Lake.
The North Chicago man was standing outside his car after it became stuck in a ditch near Wilmot Road and Paddock Drive early Monday. Authorities say a vehicle headed south on Wilmot Road hit him and then left the scene of the collision, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities were called to the scene at about 2:05 a.m. after the man was found in the roadway, according to the news release.

He was unconscious and not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
