CARY, IL -- A driver received a ticket following a two-vehicle collision on Route 14 near the Fox River bridge on Saturday morning, police said.

The collision happened at about 7:15 a.m. when a car headed west on Route 14 crossed the centerline and hit an eastbound vehicle, Scott Naydenoff, deputy chief for the Cary Police Department, told Patch.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a Chicago man, received a ticket for driving in the wrong lane and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, Naydenoff said. He and a passenger in the car, his teenage daughter, were evaluated at the scene and declined further medical treatment.
