1 Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in McHenry Co.
The crash happened Sunday evening on Ringwood Road at Meadowhill Lane in unincorporated McHenry Township.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL - A 55-year-old McHenry man was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in rural McHenry County.
The crash happened when the 2010 Harley Davidson, driven by the McHenry man, was traveling west on Ringwood Road at Meadowhill Lane in unincorporated McHenry Township at 6:46 p.m. on Sunday when it went off the roadway and struck a tree, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The driver, and sole occupant on the motorcycle, was taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
The name of the driver is being withheld until his family has been notified.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash and the McHenry County Coroner's Office is awaiting toxicology results to make a final determination regarding the cause of death. The rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The intersection of Ringwood Road and Meadowhill Lane was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated.
An investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
