2 Dead, 5 Injured in Fiery Crash in Fox Lake
The weekend crash in Fox Lake occurred when a pick-up truck "veered" into a group of motorcyclists.

FOX LAKE, IL - Two were killed over the weekend when a pick-up truck “veered” into a group of motorcyclists in Fox Lake.
A motorcyclist killed in the crash Saturday afternoon in the 6800 block of State Park Road in Fox Lake has been identified as Matthew Stautz, 43, of Rothschild, Wis., according to a McHenry County Coroner’s Office press release. The group of motorcyclists were traveling north on State Park Road when Stautz’s motorcycle was struck by the pick-up truck at about 3:10 p.m.
The driver of the pick-up truck, Charles Kleffner, 60, also died in crash, according to the Chicago Tribune. His truck caught fire following the collision and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five other motorcyclists were injured in the crash and were taken to Northern Illinois Medical Center or Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, according to the newspaper.
Laine told the Chicago Tribune that a number of passersby were stopped and helped to pull people away from the crash, which helped people from sustaining further injuries.
