200 Expected at McHenry County Hooked on Fishing Programs

The McHenry County Conservation District will host its hooked on fishing events on June 1 in Cary and June 9 in Harvard.

The McHenry County Conservation District is anticipating around 200 people to attend its hooked on fishing programs held in the coming weeks at two different local forest preserve sites. The local conservation district will host the free fishing events at The Hollows, 3804 U.S. Highway 14 in Cary, from 9 a.m. to noon on June 1 and from 9 a.m. to noon on June 9 at Rush Creek, 20501 McGuire Road in Harvard.

Families and all ages are welcome to try and catch the “big one” as they learn more about the sport of fishing and spend quality time outdoors together. Participants can bring their own gear or borrow the conservation district's equipment.

There will be prizes for the biggest fish, most fish, and more. No fishing license is needed for this event, according to a news release.
