Arrest Warrants Issued for 3 In Heroin, Fentanyl Overdose Death

The trio is charged with drug-induced homicide in connection with the overdose death of a 32-year-old woman in March.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- Authorities in Crystal Lake have made three arrests in connection with the overdose death of a 32-year-old woman. Arrest warrants were issued this past week for Kane E. Kellett, 34, Melissa R. Ohlson, 41, and Jeffrey J. Hauck, 34, on drug-induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance charges, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department. Kellet, of Crystal Lake, was already in custody at the McHenry County Jail, where he remains, and Ohlson, of Woodstock, was arrested at her home, authorities said Friday.

Authorities have not yet arrested Hauck who is wanted on the arrest warrant, police.

Police say the trio provided the drugs that lead to a 32-year-old woman's death on March 6. At 3:26 a.m. on that date, the Crystal Lake Police Department responded to a home in the o to 100 block of Talcott Avenue where they found the woman dead and also found items that lead them to believe illegal drugs use lead to her death, according to a news release.

Authorities determined heroin and fentanyl were delivered to the woman prior to her death and were the cause of her death, police said.

The drug-induced homicide remains under investigation, police said.
