Coroner IDs 3 Men Killed In Crash Near Woodstock
A Jeep collided with a tree early Sunday in unincorporated Woodstock.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – The McHenry County Coroner has identified the three young Woodstock men killed when a car went off Lily Pond Road near Woodstock and collided with a tree early Sunday. The driver of the 1994 Jeep Cherokee has been identified as Ryan K. Fleming, 20, and two of the passengers killed in the crash have been identified as Daisen T. Hollands, 21, and Quinlan M. Hartney, 20. All of the men were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski.
Authorities do not believe any of the men – who all live in Woodostck – were wearing their seatbelts. An autopsy Monday revealed all of the men died from blunt force trauma to the chest.
A preliminary investigation shows the Jeep was heading north on Lily Pond Road at 3:22 a.m. when the car went off the roadway south of McConnell Road and struck a tree just west of the road, according to authorities.

A fourth passenger in the car survived and was first taken to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley. He was later transported by ambulance to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in serious condition, according to a news release. His name has not yet been released and an update on his condition was not immediately available.
It’s not clear at this point if alcohol was a factor in the crash, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputy Sandra Rogers told the Northwest Herald. The roads were slick, it was foggy and the Jeep was traveling faster than the 45 mph posted speed limit, she said.

“You just add all of those [factors] together, and unfortunately you have a very, very tragic accident right before the holidays,” Rogers told the Northwest Herald.
The Jeep also was not equipped with airbags.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigations Unit and the McHenry County Coroner's’ Office.
