A Fight, a Stabbing, a Helicopter and Two Arrests

A fight broke out Sunday between 15 to 20 people at the Crystal Lake Apartments.

A fight that broke out Sunday morning in Crystal Lake involving up to 20 individuals resulted in a stabbing, a victim being air-lifted to a hospital and two arrests.

Upon arrival, officers found Miguel Osorio-Osorio, 25, in front of 148D Woodstock Street, with stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. In addition, two other Crystal Lake residents, Gilberto Gonzalez, 33, and Augustina Castaneda-Duran, 29, were also injured by an unknown combatant after each of them were struck in the head with a metal scooter that was used as a bludgeon, according to police.

The police investigation revealed that the man who had allegedly stabbed Miguel Osorio was Ezequiel Del Angel, 33, of 160 B Woodstock Street. Also charged was Isidro Segura, 27, of 148 D Woodstock Street, who was also identified as one of the combatants.

Angel was charged with one count of aggravated battery (causing great bodily harm, a Class 3 felony), one count of aggravated battery (by the use of a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony), one count of unlawful use of weapon (a Class A misdemeanor) and cited under the city’s local fighting ordinance. He was was transported to the McHenry County Jail where bond was to be set by a judge

Segura was charged with one count of aggravated assault (a Class A misdemeanor) and cited under the city’s local fighting ordinance. Segura was able to post the required Bond of $150 and was released with a pending court date of June 14.

Osorio was transported from the scene by ambulance to Northern Illinois Medical Center and later air-lifted to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville due to the seriousness of his wounds. He is now listed in stable condition, according to police.

Gonzalez and Castaneda-Duran were treated and released for superficial head wounds at Woodstock Memorial Hospital.
