Amazon Delivery Station Planned For Crystal Lake
The new delivery station could bring 500 jobs to a warehouse on South Main Street.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL —An Amazon delivery station could be coming to Crystal Lake, bringing 500 new jobs to a warehouse on South Main Street.
Crystal Lake's planning and zoning commission approved rezoning requests for the property at 275 S. Main St. earlier this month. If the proposal gets the Crystal Lake City Council's stamp of approval, construction on the 183,000-square-foot delivery station is expected to start in 2022, Katie Cowllin, community development director for Crystal Lake, told the Northwest Herald.
The station would be located on 63 acres on South Main Street. The site is currently vacant and is north of the Crystal Lake Business Center business park and is near Exchange Drive where there are several other industrial property, according to city documents.
