Flooding from overnight storms damaged the Titanic exhibit at the Volo Museum in Volo on the anniversary of the ship’s historic sinking.

The museum said water entered the exhibit Tuesday night, calling the timing an eerie coincidence. Officials have not yet determined what caused the flooding or how much damage was done, according to Shaw Local.

The exhibit is the only permanent Titanic display in Illinois and features artifacts and stories from passengers aboard the doomed ship.

The RMS Titanic sank in the early hours of April 15, 1912, during its voyage from Southampton to New York City after the ship struck an iceberg at about 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912.
