Flooding Damages Titanic Exhibit At Volo Museum On Anniversary Of Ship’s Sinking

Officials say water entered the Illinois museum's permanent Titanic display overnight, though the extent of the damage remains unclear.

Flooding from overnight storms damaged the Titanic exhibit at the Volo Museum in Volo on the anniversary of the ship’s historic sinking.

The museum said water entered the exhibit Tuesday night, calling the timing an eerie coincidence. Officials have not yet determined what caused the flooding or how much damage was done, according to Shaw Local.

The exhibit is the only permanent Titanic display in Illinois and features artifacts and stories from passengers aboard the doomed ship.
