CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the 38-year-old Warrenville man killed in a collision on Route 14 as Andrew Anderson.
The Crystal Lake Police Department responded at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday to a report of a single-vehicle crash with injuries near Route 14 and Lake Shore Drive.
A preliminary investigation found a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling east when it left the roadway, ejecting the driver, who has since been identified as Anderson, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
Anderson died following the crash near the intersection of Route 14 and Lake Shore Drive. Preliminary information indicates no other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the coroner's office news release.
Anderson sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy for Anderson is scheduled for Tuesday.
A portion of Route 14 was closed for about two and a half hours as emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620.
