• Teen Driver, Passenger Injured In Crystal Lake Crash (patch.com) — Crystal Lake readers should know that two teens were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a Ford Explorer slammed into a tree near North Avenue and Charlotte Avenue early Tuesday morning. Police say speed was a factor, the teen driver initially fled but was later found, and investigators are asking anyone with information or tips to contact Crystal Lake police.
   

• Power Outage Closes Several Businesses Along Route 14 (patch.com) — Several businesses along Route 14 in Crystal Lake, including Starbucks, Panera, Fresh Market, and a strip mall with TJ Maxx and Best Buy, were closed Monday morning because of a power outage. With restoration timing uncertain, residents planning to shop or grab coffee along Northwest Highway were urged to call ahead to confirm whether their destination had reopened.
   

• Katie Piech leads Crystal Lake Central girls volleyball to FVC win: Tuesday's Northwest Herald Sports Roundup (shawlocal.com) — Crystal Lake athletes had a busy night, with Crystal Lake Central's girls volleyball team rallying past Prairie Ridge behind standout play from sophomore Katie Piech. Other local highlights included Crystal Lake South's volleyball win over Cary-Grove, boys soccer victories and draws involving Central and South, and strong golf performances from Crystal Lake Central in Fox Valley Conference action.
