Power Outage Closes Several Businesses Along Route 14

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Several businesses along Route 14 in Crystal Lake are closed Monday morning due to a power outage.

Among the businesses temporarily shut down are: Starbucks, 6000 Northwest Highway; Panera, 5950 Northwest Highway; and Fresh Market, 5808 Northwest Highway. The lights were also out at all businesses in the strip mall that houses TJ Maxx, Best Buy and Steinhafels, sources told Patch.

Others reported businesses on both sides of Route 14 were shuttered due to the outage but Patch has not yet confirmed this.

As of 9 a.m., no power outages were listed in Crystal Lake on the ComEd ouatge map. Sources told Patch ComEd had reported power would be back on 10:45 a.m. but they were not positive that would happen.

Those planning an outing along Route 14 this morning may want to call the business to make sure it is open before they head out.
