Siobhan Cottone brings extensive experience and passion for the arts to Lakeside Legacy Foundation.
Crystal Lake – After an extensive search, Lakeside Legacy Foundation announces that Siobhan Cottone has accepted the position of Executive Director.
Cottone’s selection is the result of a thorough review process led by a selection committee and approved by the foundation board of directors.

“Siobhan brings a wealth of experience to the table, including fundraising, event and volunteer management of non-profit organizations focusing on education and human services,” said Patrick Coen, Lakeside’s president of the board of directors.
“She also brings a passion for the arts and celebrating local history. This passion fits with the foundation to be a world-class arts organization and community center. We’re very excited to welcome her to the Lakeside team.”

For the past two years, Cottone served as the Director of Development at Pioneer Center for Human Services in McHenry. She was responsible for fundraising programs, community outreach, corporate sponsorship, and stewardship.
Pioneer Center for Human Services is a non-profit organization whose programs include mental health, developmental disability, traumatic brain injury, homelessness prevention, sexual assault crisis intervention, autism services and more.
Cottone also served eight years as the Assistant Director of Development for Elgin Academy in Elgin, IL. Chartered in 1839 and with a current enrollment approaching 500 students, the school is ranked among the top schools academically in the Midwest.
Cottone earned an undergraduate degree in mass communications from Western Illinois University in Macomb.
“I am honored to serve and be part of the Lakeside Legacy Foundation community,” Cottone stated.
“I’m looking forward to work alongside the dedicated team of staff, volunteers, board of directors, artists, musicians, and donors to build on the success of the organization, as well as the foundation’s year-round programming, signature events, gallery openings, and studio leasing. I’m also very excited about the future for Lakeside and what it will bring to the community.”
Cottone officially takes on the role of Executive Director of Lakeside Legacy Foundation on October 8, 2012.
About Lakeside Legacy Foundation
Lakeside’s mission and vision is to create a world class community art center committed to preserving local history, cultivating the arts, and providing community programs and events. Lakeside Legacy Arts Park is located on 12-acres near the shores of Crystal Lake and is home to the Historic Dole Mansion, the annual Lakeside Festival taking place July 3 -7, two art galleries, a culinary studio, and 20 resident partner visual and performing artists. In 2002, the property was saved from demolition, and this year celebrates 10 great years as a community organization.
The arts park also offers historic tours to groups, and is available for recitals, corporate, and non-for profit events.
Studios are also available for lease for all creative arts, such as; painting, graphic design, website, photography, creative writing, jewelry, music, and much more. The two galleries showcase local and regional artists, and the foundation is currently reviewing gallery exhibit applications for 2013.
On September 13th, the foundation dedicated the Listening Room, a state-of-the art performance venue to be enjoyed by both the performer and the audience. This new endeavor accommodates audiences up to 100 and features professional sound, lights, production equipment and a Steinway piano.
As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, Lakeside thrives on the generosity from volunteers, members, donors, and corporate sponsors.
