Apple Butter Pop Up at Colonel Palmer House on Sat, Sept 14

FREE, just stop on in

Apple butter is a traditional food in the United States that was made every year in the fall as a means of preserving apples. The process of making this popular spread can take as long as 10-12 hours of cooking alone. For this reason, making apple butter often became a time for friends and family to gather and socialize while helping to peel the apples and stir the pot.

Join us at the at Colonel Palmer House on Sat, Sept 14, Noon-4 pm as we use the apples from our certified “Johnny Applesee” Apple Tree to make some apple butter the old fashioned way. FREE, just stop in. For more information contact Ashley Palazzo at palmerhouse@crystallakeparks.org or 815-477-5873.
