Applicants Sought For McHenry Co. Coroner Vacancy
Former McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski resigned on March 23.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks is seeking qualified candidates to replace former McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski. Majewski resigned from office effective March 23.
Franks is tasked with filling the vacancy with the county board’s advice and consent. Candidates must be age 18 or older, registered to vote in McHenry County, and a Republican. The appointee will serve until the Dec. 1, 2020 expiration of the term, according to a news release.
The coroner’s office is tasked with thoroughly investigat the cause of deaths in McHenry County, and ensuring that the facts surrounding the death are as complete as possible. Investigations may include on-scene investigation, autopsy, photography, toxicology testing, entomological study, notification of next of kin, and analysis of personal, medical and psychiatric history, according to the news release.

To apply, qualified candidates should e-mail a resume and cover letter detailing their interest to
Franks’ office by Thursday, May 30. Applicants will then be asked to fill out a detailed
questionnaire, as well as McHenry County’s statement of economic interests and conflict of
interest form, according to a news release.
