Authorities Investigating Death of Baby
A 12-month-old Crystal Lake girl was taken to a hospital after being found unresponsive early Wednesday, police said.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Authorities are investigating the death of a Crystal Lake baby after the 12-month-old child was found unresponsive early Wednesday, according to a statement from the McHenry County Coroner's Office. The baby and her mother were staying with relatives in Wonder Lake when the baby was found at about 5:30 a.m.
The child was taken to Northwestern Hospital in McHenry where she was pronounced dead, according to the coroner's office.
Toxicology and autopsy results are "pending," according to the coroner's office statement on Thursday. The Wonder Lake Police Department and the McHenry County Coroner's Office is investigating the death.
