In November 2015, a super hero emerged. Jacob “ The Brave” Matthaei was diagnosed and began treatment for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Surgeries, chemo, and the draining trips to and from doctors did not keep this kid down! Throughout his fight, Jacob has held strong to his nickname and been an inspiration to many around him, including his siblings who have risen to the challenge and put on their own hero capes to raise money and awareness for cancer treatment.

This year, Jacob is port free! He’s not out of the woods yet, but is in remission and will be monitored closely. Besides being a brave survivor, Jacob wants to be a policeman when he grows up. He is fascinated by sharks. Favorite foods are pizza and butter noodles. He loves Legos and Superhero’s.

Be sure to catch us on Star 105.5 on Friday August 23rd!!
