Bail Set at $500K For Man Charged in Bike Path Attack
Angel Reinaldo-Cardoza, 48, of Woodstock, remains in custody at the McHenry County Jail.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Bail has been set at $500,000 for a 48-year-old Woodstock man arrested last week for allegedly attacking two women on a Crystal Lake bike path. Angel Reinaldo-Cardoza is charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of armed violence and four counts of aggravated battery and remains in custody as of early Monday, according to online jail records.
According to several reports, two women were hurt during the assault Tuesday on the Crystal Lake bike trail. The McHenry County Conservation District Police Department said the attack happened at about 5:15 p.m. on the Ridgefield Trace bike trail near Oak Street and Ridgefield Trace Road.
A witness claimed a man on a bike was hitting one of the woman with a hammer and then beat another woman who was trying to stop the attack. However, police haven't confirmed the hammer attack detail, according WLS. The two victims were taken to a local hospital with injuries and later released, according to the Daily Herald.
