Several local teen bands will be showing off their talents in the Battle of the Bands competition hosted by the Cary Park District. The competition will be held on Saturday, May 9 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Rotary Bandshell in Lions Park, Cary. Admission to the event is FREE.

The Battle of the Bands competition gives local musicians a way to showcase their talents onstage in front of an audience. The winning band is decided by a panel of judges and will move on to compete in the regional competition held in July. The winner of the regional competition will move on to compete in the state competition held in Springfield this August.

Band members are between the ages of 12 – 21 years old. Each band will have approximately 20-30 minutes to perform and the winner will be announced at the conclusion of the event. Bands scheduled to perform are Rusted, Emerald Five, The Rand Band, and Blue Moon.
