Barrington Man, 21, Killed In Crash In Oakwood Hills

McHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 21-year-old Barrington man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Thanksgiving night in Oakwood Hills, authorities said.

An Oakwood Hills Police Department officer located a 2013 Land Rover LR4 at 10:21 p.m. after it had been involved in a crash on Rawson Bridge Road east of Brittany Drive, authorities said.

The driver and only occupant in Land Rover was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities believe the Land Rover was traveling east on Rawson Bridge Road when it crossed into the westbound lane and went off the road. The SUV then hit a tree, authorities said.

The driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, authorities said, and the vehicle’s airbags deployed.

An investigation of the crash was continuing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit, Oakwood Hills Police Department and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
