Bicyclist Killed In Crash At Route 47, Route 14 Intersection
A 25-year-old Woodstock man was riding his bike north on Route 47 when he was hit by a eastbound vehicle.

WOODSTOCK, IL -- A 25-year-old Woodstock man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while biking on Route 47 Tuesday night. Authorities were called to the intersection of Route 47 and Route 14 in Woodstock at about 7:33 p.m. Robert Amos James, 25, was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock where he was pronounced dead, McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said in a statement.
A preliminary investigation shows James was heading north on his bike on Route 47 when he was struck by a 2007 Chevy Tahoe in the intersection of Route 47 and Route 14, according to a news release. The Tahoe was heading east on Route 47 and witnesses said the vehicle had a solid green light at the time of the crash, police said.
No citations have been issued at this time, according to authorities.

An autopsy performed on James revealed he died from blunt trauma to the head, chest and abdomen, Majewski said. Toxicology testing is pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
