Blaze Causes $1M In Damage To Commercial Building In Wauconda
The fire broke out last Thursday in a building at 1000 N. Rand Road.
WAUCONDA, IL — A blaze caused $1 million in damage to a commercial building in Wauconda.
The Wauconda Fire District responded to the building at 1000 N. Rand Road at about 8:25 p.m. Thursday. Fire crews found an active fire in the rear of one of the units in the building and were able to quickly extinguish the flames, according to a news release.
The business was not open at the time of the blaze, and there was on one inside, fire officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Damage loss is estimated at about $1 million.

During the fire, the Wauconda Fire District received assistance from several area fire departments, including Lake Zurich, Grayslake, Fox Lake, Nunda, Barrington Countryside and McHenry.
