Blaze Near Crystal Lake Causes Over $250,000 in Damage

Firefighters were called to the fire at a residential structure Friday night.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - A fire caused over $250,000 in damage to a residential structure near Crystal Lake Friday night.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was alerted to the blaze at 4506 Sherwood Drive in unincorporated Crystal Lake by a neighbor to the property at about 10:29 p.m., according to a news release. Firefighters first arriving at the scene found heavy smoke and fire coming from inside the structure.

No firefighters were injured. The total amount of damage is expected to be more than $250,000, according to the news release.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
