Boy, 12, Hit By Man While Heading To Bus Stop: Police
The boy told police the incident happened Tuesday morning in the area of West Pittner Avenue and Hickory Nut Grove Road near Cary.
CARY, IL — A man hit a 12-year-old boy in the face while the boy was on his way to his bus stop Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The boy, a Cary Junior High student, told police the man then fled into a wooded area after hitting him. The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. in the area of West Pittner Avenue and Hickory Nut Grove Road in unincorporated Cary, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The boy said the man approached him and hit him for no reason, according to police. The man accused of hitting the boy is described as being a Hispanic male in his late 20s. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black athletic shoes.

The boy was not seriously injured, police said. The incident is being investigated and police are asking homeowners living in the area to review their home video surveillance. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 847-549-5200.
