Boy, 17, Injured In Shooting: Police
On Monday, police executed a search warrant as part of an investigation into into the Friday shooting in Gurnee.
GURNEE, IL — A 17-year-old Gurnee boy was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the abdomen after a Friday shooting near Brookhaven Road and Wellington Circle in Gurnee, police said.
The teen was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he is receiving treatment, police said Tuesday.
Following the shooting, Gurnee Police, with help from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, conducted an area search. On Monday, Gurnee Police executed a search warrant on Monday at a home in the 100 block of Wellington Circle. Officers were assisted by the North Interstate Police Alarm System and coordinated with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to an update from Gurnee police.

Authorities said there is no known ongoing threat.
A probe into the shooting is ongoing, and no additional details are being released.
