Boy, 5, Seriously Injured In McHenry Co. Crash

The two-vehicle collision happened Friday afternoon.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- A 5-year-old Marengo boy was flown by helicopter from the scene of a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in McHenry County, authorities said. The boy was in stable "but guarded" condition at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Two others, a 39-year-old Woodstock woman and 1-year-old Woodstock girl, were taken to Centegra Medical Center in Huntley where they were both listed in stable condition.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at 3:50 p.m. at East Coral Road and South Union Road. A preliminary investigation shows a 2001 Ford F150 was heading east on Coral Road when it failed to stop for stop sign and crashed into a 2013 Toyota Sienna. The Sienna was heading north on South Union Road at the time of the crash.

The 39-year-old Woodstock woman and 12-month-old were in the Sienna at the time of the crash. A 32-year-old man from East Troy, Wis., was driving the Ford F150, and was treated and released at the scene, and the 5-year-old boy was a passenger in that vehicle, according to the news release.
